NZCEE Monograph Series

A number of reports have been published in the NZCEE Monograph Series this year covering the following topics, with particular emphasis on various regions within NZ:

  • impacts of climate change on NZ infrastructure
  • carbon footprinting
  • environment-economy futures models
  • valuation of the ecosystem services and biodiversity
  • ecological footprinting
  • input-output analysis

 

Iwi Ecosystems Services (Ngā Māramatanga-ā-Papa) Monograph Series

A new monograph series has recently been created as part of NZCEE’s ‘Iwi Ecosystems Services’ programme. The series have been published by Te Rōpū Whakahaere, the Project Governance Group, on behalf of Te Rūnanga O Raukawa, Te Wānanga-o-Raukawa & the New Zealand Centre for Ecological Economics. Topics covered in this series include:
governing dynamics of ecosystem degradation and decline; economic value of ecosystem services; iwi perspective on sustainability; measuring ecosystem services values, and restoring natural ecosystems, within a kaupapa Māori context; historic, current and future spatial reconstruction of vegetation cover; defining a functional landscape for the geospatial identification of ecosystem services; reinstating the Mauri of valued ecosystems; cultural knowledge systems and the ecosystem approach; the central role of cultural knowledge, indigenous transdisciplinarity and dual logic in cultural survival; and an economics of generosity.
