Oscar Montes de Oca Munguia

Oscar joined NZCEE in November 2006 as an Ecological Economist. He has a degree in Operations Research and a Masters Degree in Applied Science. He is currently involved in the Ecological Footprint Plus programme.

Oscar's current work also includes the use of diverse techniques to model the interactions between economic, ecological and social systems:

  • Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) to analyse Land-Use Land-Change (LULC) decisions and water allocation policy evaluation.
  • Spatial Microsimulation models to assess economic and resource management policy impacts.
  • Definition of policy evaluative frameworks that allow the inclusion of multi cultural perspectives.
