Dr Nancy Golubiewski
Nancy Golubiewski is an Ecologist at the New Zealand Centre for Ecological Economics, where she currently works on the biophysical accounting of ecosystem services in natural and managed landscapes. She has also contributed to NZCEE's projects on urban material/energy flow accounting and the development of a genuine progress indicator. She remains active in the field of urban ecology. Her research interests center around anthropogenic perturbations of the environment, especially the ecological consequences of land-use/land-cover change.
Previously, Nancy has investigated the implications of urban sprawl on carbon storage in Colorado, soil recovery after the cessation of grazing in New Mexico, and the long-term trajectories of structure and composition of forests located on abandoned agricultural fields in North Carolina
. Nancy holds a B.Sc. from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, a Master's of Environmental Management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
