Principal Ecological Economist, New Zealand Centre for Ecological Economics

Due to our expanding business over recent years, NZCEE is now seeking to make an appointment to the new position of Principal Ecological Economist. The ideal candidate will have a relevant PhD with an excellent track record and international reputation in applied ecological economics research. The successful applicant will play a senior leadership role at NZCEE by leading research programmes, providing intellectual leadership, and by developing new areas of business. A proven ability to lead, inspire and manage a team of researchers is required, particularly in the areas of ecological economics. The candidate must have expertise and substantive knowledge in at least 3 of the core research areas in which NZCEE has major research programmes: sustainability indicators and modelling, environmental valuation, industrial and urban ecology, ecological footprinting, modelling economy-environment dynamics, ecosystem services, spatial analysis of ecological economic processes, scenario analysis, environmental accounting, ecological taxation and incentives for achieving a sustainable economy, and participatory approaches to ecological economics.
